Chaga Mushroom Powder - Organic
10:1 Concentrated Extract - 2oz (56 grams)
What is Chaga Mushroom Powder?
Chaga is a powerful fungus that grows on birch trees in cold regions in North America, Siberia, Scandinavia, Alaska, and Canada. It slowly grows in unison with the tree while it is alive, and is able to thrive in very harsh climates partly by absorbing micronutrients from the host. We take ten pounds of the very highest grade wild chaga mushroom and carefully transform it into one pound of the finest powder extract.
What is a Concentrated Extract Powder
We take the highest quality chaga mushroom and transform it into a highly potent, concentrated extract powder that contains ten times more nutrients than the raw mushroom. Nothing is added or taken away during the process, so you will receive a pure powder which is ready to be used.
How Do I Use Chaga Mushroom Powder?
Chaga is traditionally brewed and infused in boiling water, and it is often enjoyed in parts of Siberia and China as a replacement for tea or coffee. Our chaga powder has been pre-prepared, so all you have to do is mix half to one teaspoon of this powder into hot water, a smoothie, or juice for instant goodness in a cup. Chaga can also be mixed into dressings and dips or used as a topping on meals. It has a mild, earthy flavor which makes it incredibly versatile and easy to use, and it can be used in both sweet and savoury dishes. If you're feeling creative, you can also use it to add a superfood boost to raw chocolate, truffles, smoothie bowls, energy bars and more.
Chaga also work well when mixed with other medicinal mushrooms, such as turkey tail, lion's mane and tremella. If you can't decide which mushrooms to go with, then you may like our medicinal mushroom complex powder which contains a unique blend of eight of the most-loved medicinal mushrooms in the world in a miron glass jar.
Our concentrated chaga extract comes in an eco-friendly, resealable and travel-friendly pouch. We recommend that you store your chaga in a cool dry place, to help preserve its many nutrients.
Chaga Dose Recommendations
A little goes a very long way with our potent 10:1 concentrated extract powder, so if it's your first time trying chaga, then we recommend starting with a smaller daily dose of around 1/2 a teaspoon. You can then up each dose to around 1 teaspoon, which can be taken up to three times a day.
Did You Know? Chaga Facts
Chaga is also known by its Latin name of inonotus obliquus, as well as diamond of the forest, mushroom of immortality, and hua jie kong jun.
Longevity expert and plant guru David Wolfe says, “why take medicinal mushroom or herb number one-hundred or thousand when you can have number one?' And that number one is chaga”.
Creamy Chaga Chocolate Smoothie
One of our favourite recipes of all time was created for us by the incredible plant-based Chef, Vegan Andy. He teamed our chaga powder with raw cacao powder for an added dose of antioxidants. The avocado helps to give the recipe a lovely rich, creamy texture as well as some good fats. If you want to create a 'colder' smoothie, with more of an ice cream texture, then we recommend peeling the bananas and popping them into the fridge to freeze before using them. This chocolatey delight can be enjoyed for breakfast, as a delicious desert, or just a simple smoothie.
You Will Need
3 Ripe Bananas
½ Hass Avocado
1 Tbsp Raw Cacao
1 Tsp Hybrid Herbs Chaga Mushroom Powder
½ Tsp Lemon Juice
Pinch of Salt
Optional Toppings: Berries , kumquats
Place all of the ingredients into your blender and then blend until smooth. Spoon the mixture into a bowl and then top with your choice of berries, figs and kumquats. You can also customize your chaga smoothie bowl with seeds, nuts, goji berries or sprinkle on other superfoods such as pine pollen or pink pitaya powder. It is best served and enjoyed immediately, but it will stay fresh in the fridge for up to a day.
